ECKSTEIN, EDNA M., 92, of Louisville passed away June 25, 2010. She was born April 21, 1918 in Montgomery, WV to John and Mary Falbo and grew up a devout Catholic. She went on to gain her nursing (RN) degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Huntington, WV in June of 1939. In 1941, she married Richard L. Eckstein, now deceased, and had four children, Judy E. Peebles (Stafford), of Winston-Salem, NC, Richard M. Eckstein (Susan), of Chapin, SC, Kathy E. Goodin (Bob), of Louisville and James A. Eckstein (Debbie), of Carmel, IN. She isalso survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will always remember her loving, caring, and nurturing ways as well as her constant generosity toward others. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Falbo, Tony Falbo, John Falbo, Rudy Falbo and Albert Falbo, as well as her sisters, Elizabeth Colosimo and Fannie Dalporto. Visitation was held Sunday. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road. Final resting place will be Cave Hill Cemetery. The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Saint Mary's School of Nursing, 2900 First Ave., Huntington, WV 25702 or Hosparus of Louisville.
