He was a member of the Osceola Baptist church for 50 years. In 1908 he retired from farming and moved to Osceola.
Mr. House was the last member of a family of eight. Preceeding him in death were three brothers Judson, Morgan, and Charles, and four sisters, Hattie Parks, Almeda Hall, Phoebe Miller, and Mittie Foster. His wife died in 1939.
Surviving are three daughters, Edna, Mrs. Herbert Ford, Mabel, Mrs. Don Tracy, both of Osceola, and Lena, Mrs. H.E. Kidd, of Toulon. Also are four grandchildren, Vernon Ford, Osceola:Meredith Tracy, Kewanee: Merlin & Donna Jean Kidd, Toulon and 3 great-grandchildren.
