Frances was born in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Selvy Robinson and Ed Rumsey. Her parents divorced sometime between 1910 and 1920. The US Census shows siblings Edward, Roy, Frances, Lola , Walter, Delilah, Robert, Harold, Myrl.

Frances A. Rumsey married Harold Ely Pratt sometime before 1935. They appear in the 1940 US Census at 7209 Eastondale Street, in Long Beach California and report that they both had lived in the same place in 1935. A copy of the 1930 census has not yet been found. Harold predeceased her in 1947.

She then married Herbert Raymond "Blondy" Branson on 20 May 1948 in Los Angeles, California.

She then married Courtlyn B Currie on 17 Mar 1961 in Los Angeles, California

Her name appears in the online Forest Lawn directory with plot shared with her husband Courtlyn. Although there is a marker for her husband, there is no marker for her as of 2014. Photo volunteer confirmed with cemetery that Frances is interred here.
