TUPELO – Heather C. Burns, 29, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at her residence in Tupelo. She was born July 21, 1983, in Tupelo to Keith G. "Jerry" Burns Jr. and Sara Phyllis Burns. She was an avid reader and enjoyed learning. She loved spending time with her family, animals and working with flowers. Also she enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music and watching movies. She attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with the Rev. Danny Balint officiating. Burial will be at Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include her parents, Keith G. "Jerry" Burns Jr. and Sara Phyllis Barnes Burns of Tupelo; aunts and uncles, James and Judy Barnes of Tupelo, Mary Shawn and Michael Whitfield of Blue Springs, Laverna Small of Sherwood, Ark., Thelma and Tommy Johnson of Corinth, Joe and Rosita Burns of Hampden, Maine, Kathi Mann of Plantersville; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Elwood Barnes Sr., Sara C. Chase, Keith G. Burns Sr. and Peggy Margeret Eva Burns; and both maternal and paternal great-grandparents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
