ORVILLE TED WILLIAMS
March 19, 1942 ~ February 7, 2013

Orville "Ted" Williams passed away peacefully in his home on February 7, 2013 after a brave battle with leukemia.

Born on March 19, 1942 to Don "Shorty" and Bertha Williams, Ted grew up on the family farm in Dollars Corner near Battle Ground, Washington. He graduated in 1960 and attended one year at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington where he studied drafting.

In the summer of 1962 he met Cheryl "Tippy" Berg in Circle, Montana. They were married for 30 years and had four children.

Ted worked as a choker-setter and a millwright before entering the sprinkler fitter industry. He was a member of the Local 669 throughout his 35 years in the trade and remained until his death.

Ted loved to be out in the fields on his tractor making hay on the family farm or custom cutting for others in the area. He enjoyed horseback riding, country dancing, and spending time with his family and friends. After retirement he spent a lot of time camping or traveling with girlfriend, Kathy White.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Bertha Williams.

He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Jean) Williams of Amboy, Washington, Kenny (Cathy) Williams of Yacolt, Washington; children, Ted "Bryan" (Kelly) Williams, Cheri McKnight, Shelli Williams and Rebecca "Becky" (David) Mikeals, all of Battle Ground, Washington; and seven grandchildren.

Ted was laid to rest on February 14, 2013 at a private burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Washington.

A celebration of his life was held on March 9, 2013 at Manor Grange at 12:00 p.m. in Battle Ground, Washington.
