According to Illinois marriage records, Brita "Dahlgren" married Carl August Myrtengren on 23 July 1848 in Henry County, Illinois. Her husband went by the name of "Charles M. Green" in Civil War records, and in the 1860 census. He died at the Battle of Shiloh (Tennessee) on 6 April 1862.

According to cemetery transcriptions, her name was Betsey "Breta" Myrtengren.

Some census records show her first name as Brita. Others show it as Betsy.

While her gravestone showes a birth year of 1829, other records prove she was born in 1828 (thank you to contributor Mats Lundell for this information).
