Bennie Richard Boxx, 53, of Sharon, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial was in Tansil Cemetery in Sharon.
Scott Lewis, Zbzislaw Wasniowski, Mike Petty, Jim Lawson, Ken Darling, Randal Yates, Donald Ricketts and Matt Cunningham served as pallbearers.
Boxx was born March 29, 1958, in Chicago, son of Doretta Boxx of Sharon and the late Bennie Boxx. He was employed by B & R Gear in Sharon and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge.
Survivors also include one son, Bennie Ryan Boxx of Martin; one daughter, Erica Marie Boxx of Martin; one brother, Terry Boxx of Sharon; two sisters, Suzette Kelly of Denver and Brenda Sudzum of Sharon; and one granddaughter, Ariel Alyce Boxx.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Doretta Boxx.
