Irma Sue Collins, 64, of the Meadow Brook community in Afton, died Monday at her home.

Mrs. Collins was a member of Telford United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Andrew Johnson Post No. 1990.

"She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured her many friends," her family stated.

Survivors include her husband: Bobby C. Collins; her son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Schery Collins of Afton; three grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law: Brad and Misty Adams, Curt Collins, and Victoria "Tori" Hopson; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends: Larry and Linda Hensley, Bobby Harrison, and Janie Brown.

She was preceded in death by her daughter: Teresa Hopson Beasley; a grandson: Hayden Beasley; her parents: Jack Bowman and Louise Bowman Wilhoit; her stepfather: Samuel David Wilhoit; five brothers: Jimmy Bowman, Jack "Buddy" Bowman, Richard Bowman, Franklin D. Bowman, and William Bowman; and three sisters: Leon A. "Tootie" Yates, Norma Jean Cooter; and Shirley Lynn Roark.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Mortuary.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the mortuary chapel. The Rev. Donnie Bible, the Rev. Ken Lytton, and the Rev. Rocky Johnson will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Henard Myers, Steve Lowe, Teddy Price, Gary Ricker, Paul Bible, Kevin Weems, Pat Lee Loyd, and Marvin Pleasant.
