Leo Elliott, 84, of Russellville, AR, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.

A son of Oliver & Thelma Purl Elliott, he was born February 14, 1933, in Tyler, TX.

He was a business owner & operator of College Grocery, credited for having some of the highest quality cuts of meat in the River Valley area. Bowling was a sports passion in his life, affording him the opportunity to serve as the assistant bowling coach at ATU, and participating in many ABA professional bowling events.

Having served in the United States Army during the Korean War conflict, Leo was also a proud member of the American Legion.

He was a member of the Sylvana Baptist Church, Tyler, TX where he was baptized as a young man. In addition to his love for bowling, he was an avid fisherman, creative at wood carving, carpentry, and a reputable butcher.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Frances Bernice Elliott; his parents; and a sister, Robbie Nell Rowe.

He is survived by three sons, Boyd Elliott (Carol) of Edmond, OK; Bruce Elliott (Rhonda) of Russellville; and Brent Elliott of Sherwood; three grandchildren, Jordan Elliott (Lauren) of Edmond; Seth Elliott (Shannon) of Fort Worth, TX; and Lauren Elliott of Russellville; and five great grandchildren, Rowan Elliott, Harper Elliott, Gray Elliott & Crew Elliott, each of Edmond; and Emma Kate Elliott of Fort Worth.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Retired Russellville Police Officer Alan Bradley will officiate. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided by the Rogers-Rye VFW Post #2283. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, 217 West 2nd Street, Little Rock, AR 72201; or the Salvation Army, 1400 Weir Road, Russellville, AR 72801.
