GREENSBORO- Clarence J. Bowman, 85, passed away on his birthday, October 8th.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro with interment to follow in Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Winnie Bowman, his wife of 58 years Mildred C. Bowman and his brother Earl Bowman.

His immediate survivors are his son, Julian D. Bowman and his wife Kaye of Greensboro; daughters, Linda Thacker and her husband Darrell of McLeansville, Nancy Martinez Powell and her husband Rodney of Greensboro; his five foster children, Clem, Terri, Nick, Phil, and Geneva Martinez; his five grandchildren; and his eight great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Glenwood Friends Church of Greensboro, employed by Carolina Steel for 35 years, and a veteran of World War II.
Friends may visit at the chapel on Tuesday from 12 noon until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glenwood Friends Church or a charity of your choice.
