Gladys Irene Sexton, of Pelsor, passed away at her home surrounded by family on February 11, 2013. She was 84 years old.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 14 at Holt Memorial Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service is Friday, February 15 at Lurton Assembly of God at 10:00 a.m. Stanley Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Cowell Cemetery. Pallbearers are Timothy Sexton, Anthony Breedlove, Christopher Beasley, Clayton Beasley, Justin Clayborn, David Owens, and Evan Bryant. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters.

Gladys married Homer Lee Sexton on January 13, 1944.
She was a member of the Cowell Community Church for 56 years and she enjoyed quilting.
Her husband, Homer Sexton; her parents; a granddaughter, Melissa Lackey; and a brother Arvil Adams preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Leon and Ruth Sexton, Gloria and Jimmy Lackey, Darrel and Stacy Sexton, Shirley and Greg Porter, Beverly and John Berry; stepson and his wife, Carl Lee and Mary Sexton; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Sain, Hazel Smith, and Kathy Rowlingson; and brothers, Burl, Leroy, Dale, and Larry Adams.
