JESS O. BALL, 68, of Colorado Springs, died July 21, 1996, at a local hospital. He was retired from the construction industry.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses with the Rev. Wayne L. Carmany officiating. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

Mr. Ball was born April 8, 1928, in Pueblo to Claude W. and Mattie C. (Jackson) Ball.

He was married Oct. 28, 1955, in Colorado Springs to Ruth M. Block, who lives in Colorado Springs.

He is also survived by his mother; a son of Colorado Springs; two brothers, one of Sun City, Ariz., and one of Salt Lake City; and two sisters, one of Phoenix and one of Cypress, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Henry.

Mr. Ball was in the Navy from 1950 to 1954.

He had lived in Colorado Springs since 1967 and enjoyed playing golf and working crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed the rodeo and was a sports fan.
