WHALEY, CORA ETHEL - age 77, of Sevierville, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2002, at Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville. Mrs. Whaley was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Whaley ; parents, Will and Zettie Reagan Dodgen; brother, Joe Dodgen; sisters, Edith Hippensteal and May Manning. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and JoAnn Whaley of Cleveland, Tenn., Jack and Kathy Whaley of Knoxville; grandchildren, Russell Whaley and wife, Tara, Stacey Whaley , Chris Whaley , Kelly Vaughan and husband, Adam, Chris Jessen, and J.J. Whaley ; great-grandchildren, Keelan Whaley , Kaella Whaley , Ashton Whaley , Hunter Whaley , and Emmiline Vaughan; brothers, Lee Dodgen and wife, Betty, Ray Dodgen and wife Ruby, and sister, Ola Moyers and husband, Paul. Besides the immediate family members, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends will miss Ethel. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. E. K. Waldrop and Rev. Jimmy McFalls officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Valley View Cemetery. Sonny Smith, Russell Whaley , Christopher Whaley , Chris Jessen, J. J. Whaley , and Earl Dodgen are honored to have been chosen to serve as pallbearers for Mrs. Whaley . The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Rawlings Funeral Home.
