Mrs. Smith, a native of Warren County, lived in McCormick, SC, for the past five years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Bill" Stering Smith and son, Milton Eugene Hobbs. She was a Jehovah's Witness.
The funeral was Aug. 6 at 4 p.m. at Overbrook Cemetery, McCormick, S.C.
Survivors include two sons, Sterling "Billy" Joseph Smith, Thomson, and James "Monroe" Smith, Gibson; three daughters, LaVern Smith Nelson, McCormick, Odamae Hernadez, Wrens, and Minnie Jean Warner, North Augusta; one sister, Inez Thomson; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
