Born in Ticonderoga, New York, Mr. Mitchell was raised in upstate New York and moved to this area in 1972 from Minerva, New York. He owned Mitchell Hauling and Mitchell Auto Acquisition, both in Edgewater, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of the Edgewater American Legion Post 285. Mr. Mitchell was affiliated with Edgewater Alliance Church, enjoyed fishing, camping, swimming, sports and coaching, cookouts, and generally being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Wilma; son, Royce ans his wife Robyn of Edgewater; daughter, Bridget and her husband Harry Warnick of Ormond Beach; sister, Jenell Harrington of New Smyrna Beach; grandson, Thomas Warnick of Ormond Beach; granddaughter, Emmalyn Mitchell of Edgewater; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
