Viola Moncier Mauk, 97, of Katherine Lane in the Sunnyside community, died Wednesday morning at Takoma Adventist Hospital.

Mrs. Mauk was a homemaker and the widow of Lawrence Mauk.

She attended Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law: Betty and Edward Brooks and Jimmie Ruth Pierce, all of Greeneville, and Jean Bales, of Sarasota, Fla.; five grandchildren and their spouses: Sharon and Gene Jennings of Greeneville, Michelle and Scott Livengood of Winston-Salem, N.C., Linda Bales and Larry Bales, both of Sarasota, and Daphine Ryan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three great-grandchildren and two great-grandsons-in-law: Kim and Kevin Easterly of Greeneville; Chandra and Josh Wills of Fayetteville, N.C., and Meredith Parham of Winston-Salem; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Lois and Craig McCurry of Bagdad, Fla., and Della Price of Greeneville; a sister-in-law: Virginia Larkin of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a daughter of the late Frank and Belle Mercer Moncier and was preceded in death by two sisters: Blanche Colby and Geraldine Hyduk; and two brothers: Bob Moncier and Noble Moncier.

The family received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Rance Edwards will officiate.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens

Pallbearers will be Kevin Easterly, Josh Wills, Mike Norton, Bobby Hyduk, Danny Hyduk, John Smith, Kyle Hartman, Gene Jennings, and Jimmy Dean Coffey.
