Mildred Louise Casey Jennings, age 86, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. Dedicated to her family, church, and community, Ms. Jennings was a loving housewife, mother, sibling, caregiver, gardener and supporter of all with whom she had contact.

Born August 25, 1926, in Waddy, Kentucky, she graduated in 1945 from Waddy High School. Her interest in education and people never waned. As a member of the Salem Baptist since 1942, she had worked with children in Sunday School, the nursery, and Girls Auxiliary. Serving on several committees when her health allowed, she was a member of the WMU and Homemakers.

Ms. Jennings was preceded in death by her husband of 52 1/2 years Ernest Jennings; her infant daughter Patsy Ann; her parents Kenneth W. and Ethel Hammond Casey; and her sister Anna Elizabeth Casey Edgington.

She is survived by her daughter Ernestine Jennings; sisters Jean Casey Jesse and Betty Casey Carter, both of Shelbyville; brothers John W. Casey and Ray Casey, both of Waddy; brothers-in-law Raymond Jesse and Bobby Carter; sister-in-law Margaret Cook Casey; 11 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews, 4 step-great nieces and nephews, 9 great-great nieces and nephews and 2 step-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation is at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Kentucky, Tuesday, February 12, from 2-8 PM and Wednesday, February 13 from 2-8 PM. The funeral will be Thursday, February 14 at 10:00 AM at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery.
