John William Meadors was born on November 7, 1868 in Whitley County, Kentucky, the son of Luke Meadors (1849–1926) and Louisa Jane (Criscillis) Meadors (1849–1884). [NOTE: The maiden name of John's mother IS Criscillis rather than Crecelius.]
John was married first about 1888 to a Miss Sarah Bell -- who was born 18 May 1871 & died 15 May 1890. Almost nothing else is currently known about her. John was married 2nd on 27 Jan 1891 to Margaret Elizabeth Isabelle "Maggie" Duncan (1868-1950), the daughter of Champion C "Champ" Duncan and Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Privett.
John & his wife were farmers in the Jellico Creek area of Whitley Co & raised their family there.
He spent most of his life in Whitley Co, but was in Eastern State Hospital in Lexington, Fayette Co when he passed away on May 25, 1942.
