Paul Nathaniel Hooks, 67, of New Haven passed away on February 3, 2013. Paul was born to James Robert Hooks, Sr. and the late Shirley Jeffers Hooks on March 23, 1945 in New Haven, CT. Paul was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and served in the United States Army. He was previously employed at Yale University and at the time of his death he worked at the Veterans Administrations Hospital in West Haven. He leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Deloris Stagger Hooks, stepmother, Mary Green-Hooks, stepchildren, Samel Staggers, Ann Taylor, Dawn Taylor, Tanya Staggers, Eric Staggers, all of New Haven; brother, Jamika Hooks (Adrienne); sisters, Carol Martin Hooks, Kathleen Hooks, Tiana Hooks; stepsisters, Pamela McElveen, Damonda Cummings (John), Dannete Minder, Conneatta Cummings (Sidney); stepbrother, Ronald Miller (Beverly); nieces, Ronda Martin, Brenda Pearson; 30 grandchildren and a good buddy, Ron Benefield. He was predeceased by, brothers, James Hooks Jr., James Hooks III. A Celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11AM at First Church of God, 90 Harper Ave., New Haven, CT. Friends may call Wed. from 9-11AM at the church.
