Frank J. Tuma, 79, of Lonsdale, passed away at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague on Sunday, June 7. Funeral services were held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale on Tuesday, June 9, with the Rev. Otto Neudecker officiating. Visitation was at the Lonsdale Funeral Chapel, and burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale. Pallbearers were Lester, Norlan, and Donald Malecha; Frank Flicek, all of Lonsdale, Peter Schweiss of Fairfax and Francis Novotny of New Prague. Born on September 1, 1890, in Rice Co., Frank J. Tuma was a son of the late Matthew and Catherine Vones Tuma. He married Mary Rezac at Most Holy Trinity Church in Veseli. He farmed most of his life. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Mary) Malecha; a brother, Albert J. Tuma of Lonsdale; a sister, Anna Havlicek of Lonsdale; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary, two brothers, James of Faribault, and Joseph of Webster, and a sister, Elizabeth, are deceased.
