On June 11, 1917, he married Lydia Cook and they had two children, John and Victor.
On Feb. 15, 1922, he married Catherine Vogel. They had one child, Maria Katharina Steinmetz.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Lydia.
Burial is in the Sunnybrook Cemetery, Clearmont, WY.
