Conrad James Adamski age 84 of Eastlake, Michigan died Friday morning, February 8, 2013 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee surrounded by his family.

He was born in Eastlake, Michigan on November 2, 1928. He is the son of the late Joseph J. and Isabelle R. (Majkszak) Adamski.

Conrad served as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War with the 17th Bombardment Wing, Headquarter Company, from November 17, 1950 until November 6, 1952.

Conrad married Betty Ann Bernier on April 21, 1951 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee. They have celebrated over sixty one years of marriage together. He was a long time employee of the Century Boat Company of Manistee where he was the customer service manager completing some thirty eight years with the company until they closed their Manistee operations. In 1986 Conrad began operating his own business A & A Marine, retailing and shipping marine replacement parts, mainly Century Boat parts, nationally. Having sold the company in 1996, he retired to a life of enjoying family and friends, along with hunting, fishing and wood working.

Conrad was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, a life member of the V.F.W. Walsh Post #4499, a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #250 all of Manistee, and the
World Worst Fisherman's Club. He also served as the Eastlake Village Assessor and on the Board of Review for Manistee Township. Conrad was inducted into the Manistee Catholic Central Hall of Fame in 2006, receiving the nomination of the Manistee Catholic Central Band Boosters. In 1980 he played a role in starting the Century Boat Club and has served as secretary for many years. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award in September of 2007 and the Chuck Miklos Thoroughbred Legacy Award in August of 2012.

Surviving is his wife Betty A. Adamski of Eastlake, his daughter and son in-law, Diana and Michael Shively of Manistee and their children and families, Kevin and Carrie
Shively and their children, Faith and Brienna, Adam and Sarah Shively and their children, Anabell and Conrad, and Jason Shively, daughter and son-in-law, Catherine
and Robert Gregorski of Scottville, and their children, Nicole Petroelje and her daughter Emerson, and sons Ryan and Nathan Gregorski, son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and
Deborah Adamski of Jenison and their children, Megan, Emily and Angela Adamski, daughter Karen Adamski and her children, Kenneth and Nicholle Messer and Heather Messer, and his sister-in-law, Lorraine Adamski of Eastlake. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

Conrad was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Isabelle Adamski, his infant brother and infant sister, Ronald and Rosalie Adamski, his brother Myron Adamski, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilford & Anna (Stanek) Bernier and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Bernier.

A Memorial Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend John McCracken celebrant. Members of the V.F.W. Ritual Squad will present final military honors at the church following the memorial mass. Final interment will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the Herbert Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the memorial mass.

The members of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #250 of Manistee will conduct Memorial Services at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30 PM, where the Evening Vigil service will also be prayed Friday evening at 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials will be established in Conrad's name for Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Manistee Catholic Central Schools and Munson Home Health Care. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and at the church on Saturday morning.
