Uncle Lewis was killed at Salerno, Italy during World War II. He had just made his rank of Lieutenant in the U. S. before being shipped to Italy.

He married Helen Rachak in Colorado. They had no children.

He was loved by all his family and is missed to this day.

Lewis grew up on the Judson Mill Village in Greenville County and was the son of Lewis Burgan Case, Sr. and Roxie Hollingsworth Case.
