This Cemetery was found along a dirt road that led down and ended at a Reservoir put in years ago. About a half mile before you came to the Reservoir we seen a sign for Chandler Cemetery. The path led back into a thick forrest coverd foilage. We found the cemetery about a 4th mile back.
This burial is confirmed by the Monroe County Cemetery index furnished by the Research Library at the Monroe County Library. Polly Jane Shirrell died on Feb 19, 1882 which matched the marker photo.
Family stories told say that husband William Henry Shirrell hand etched the marker present today.
