Company G "Lamar Rifles" ("Always Ready!") of Lafayette County, 11th Mississippi Infantry, Davis' Brigade, Heth's Division, 3rd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Lafayette County.
Enlisted 2/23/1861, he was mustered into "G" Co. MS 11th Infantry as a Private.
Severely wounded 5/31/1862 Battle of Seven Pines, VA.
Mortally wounded 5/12/1864 in the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Va.

The 11th Infantry Regiment was organized at Corinth, Mississippi, in May, 1861, and mustered into Confederate service at Lynchburg, Virginia.
Its companies were recruited in the counties of Neshoba, Yazoo, Monroe, Coahome, Noxubee, Chickasaw, Lowndes, Lamar, Carroll, and Lafayette.
