Pauline Louise Bacon, 89, of Waterville, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center.

Pauline was born in Utica on July 2, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Young) Mosher. She was raised and educated locally. Pauline married Nelson R. Leigh. Mr. Leigh passed away in 1971. In the late 1980's, Pauline married Charles Bacon. Mr. Bacon passed away in 2012. Pauline had served as a nurse's aide for the military during World War II. She was later employed with Edgewater Nursing Home, until her retirement. Pauline was of the Jehovah Witness faith.

Pauline is survived by four daughters, Linda Boone, VA, Julie Podagrosi, Whitesboro, Faith Vandergrift, Oswego, Bonnie Shipman, GA; two sons, David Leigh, Syracuse, Monte Leigh, Whitesboro. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a grandson, Nelson E. Leigh, Jr.; a sister, Annette Smith; and a brother, Frank Thurston. Since Mrs. Bacon's passing, her son, Nelson E. Leigh, Sr. has passed away.

Mrs. Bacon's funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. Published in The Observer-Dispatch from February 10 to February 11, 2013
