Thelma Ruth (Bowers) Aulvin,97,of Albion, passed away at 7:55a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Aulvin was born August 16, 1915, in Albion, a daughter of William and Lillie Belle (Vincent) Bowers. She wed L.D. Aulvin on Nov. 17, 1956 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were married for 55 years. Mrs. Aulvin lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for some time with her husband before returning to Albion, Illinois to live with her husband L.D. at the Aulvin family homestead at 116 8th Street in Albion. L.D. passed on November 28, 2011.
She was a homemaker and an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Wesley Belle Circle and the 20th Century Club in Albion, Illinois.
Survivors include caregivers Kay Jones, Debbie Cochran and Gloria Frankland; the congregation of the First United Methodist Church; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Aulvin, parents, one brother and six sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16th, at the First United Methodist Church in Albion, with Pastor Pat Allen officiating. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment of ashes were next to her late husband's following the service at Graceland Cemtery in Albion. Nale's Funeral Home of Albion was in charge of arrangements.
