He was born in Sanderson. He had lived in Palatka for 44 years, coming from Callahan. He was a retired lineman with Florida Power & Light Co. He was a deacon and Sunday School director at Trinity Baptist Church, a member of the Putnam County Hunters Association and also a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Ferrell T. Green of Palatka; three daughters, Pamela Douglas of Brunswick, Ga., Cynthia Kerce of Tampa and Melony Dunning of Palatka; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Lorace Cothron officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 45 making the flag presentation.
