Word has been received of the death of Dana P. Robinson, 73 of Lawton, 74 of Lawton.
Mrs. Robinson passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Lawton.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Dana was born on October 24, 1939 in Norman, Oklahoma to Daniel and Ima Gene (Green) Parnell. She grew up in Chickasha and Lawton where she attended St Mary's Catholic School, graduating in 1958. While at St. Mary's she was named Basketball Queen. She moved to California where she lived for a while before returning to Lawton to marry Richard L. Robinson on April 28, 1961 and they remained in Lawton. She liked antiques and collected tea cups. She and her daughter enjoyed decorating her home. She was an animal lover and leaves behind her beloved cats and dogs. She and Richard enjoyed going on adventures to the Wichita Mountains and taking drives and she loved family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. She liked to read, embroidery and crochet.
Dana will always be remembered for her kind and gracious manner.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of the home; three daughters and two sons in law, Pam Robinson, Judi and Aaron Kerr, and Melissa and William Opperman, all of Lawton; her sister and brother in law, Susie and Roy Windham, of Purcellville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Sam Cuzzort, Ben Cuzzort, Jack Cuzzort, Aleisha Opperman, and William Opperman; one great granddaughter, Ellie Ironrope-Cuzzort; and a host of loving friends including her best friends, Donna Watts and Virginia Schantz.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Daniel Parnell.
