COOK, Benjamin Lindsay

With profound sadness the family of Benjamin L. Cook announce his passing on February 7, 2013, at the age of 88 years.
Ben was born in Inglewood, California, on May 8, 1924, to Gustav and Clara Schulz Cook. During World War II he served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific stationed out of the sub base at Pearl Harbor. After the war he worked in Japan for the U.S. Army Technical Intelligence Center before attending California State Polytechnic College in San Luis Obispo. He came to Canada in 1952 and thereafter enjoyed his career in the oil and gas industry, retiring from North Canadian Oils in Calgary. While on assignment in Denver he met his wife Maxine.
He is survived his loving wife Maxine along with children Ben (Pauline), Ken (Judy), Kathy (Tom), and Tom (Jane), grandchildren; Carley, Jesse, Barbara, Sarah, Leo, Hannah, Oliver, and Elliott, and great-grandchildren; Caira, Cage, and Chayce. Also surviving is his first wife Norma Haig in Calgary as well as a nephew and three nieces in the U.S.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
