On March 9, 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Fluck. To this union five children were born to bless their home.
Three words have always fitted into this life. They were sincerity, honesty, and industriousness. With these he provided a comfortable home, and endeavored to give his children a good education.
He leaves to mourn his sudden demise his sorrow-stricken companion, five children, Mrs. Helen Siewert, Mrs. Matilda Siewert, both of Slayton, Minnesota, William, Elizabeth and Leonard, at home, three grandchildren, three sisters and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday, the 13th, in charge of Rev. J.J. Braun. Rev. J.H. Siewert, preached the sermon from the text of Hebrews 11:10. Burial took place in Hartley Cemetery.
