Lottie attended school in Bryceland and graduated from Bienville High School where she was a star basketball player. Upon graduation, she entered Schumpert School of Nursing. It was during this time that she met and married her husband of 57 years, Reverend Billy Franks. Together, they founded the Oakmont Church of God where she was choir director for many years. Sister Lottie loved to sing and was a member of the Harmonettes Gospel Quartette. She appeared in numerous concerts, and on radio and television.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend Billy Franks; sons, Derrel and wife, Sandy, and Murray and wife, Beti; daughter, Kathy Sullivan and husband, Bill; grandchildren: Alicia Balcerzak and husband, Mark, Scott Sullivan and wife, Brandy, Cody Sullivan and wife, Rita, Billy Franks, III, Madison Franks, Thomas O'Hara, and Jeffrey Belden; sisters: Lois Jordan, Alice Kitchings, and Aline Upshaw.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Christine Hood, and brothers, Elton, Bill, and Huey Hood.

Lottie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and a devout Christian.
