George Gustave Frederick Lenz born December 24, 1921 left his earthly home for his heavenly home January 12, 2013.
George was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fairhope where he served on the council, was the Sunday School Superintendent, a teacher and head of the Evangelism Committee. He was a member of the American Legion Post 199. He was a WW II veteran from 1942-1946. He was an agent and an associate manager for Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 29 years.
George is preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Herrick, daughter, Barbara Lenz Busha and sister, Dorothy Callahan.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Reynolds Lenz, son, George (Polly) Lenz, Jr., daughters, Susan Lenz (Paul) Pacey, Deborah Lenz (Frank) Black, Diane R. (Fred) Garza, Vicki R. (Mark) Shull; son, Robert (Marion) Reynolds; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00am at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church or one's favorite charity.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
