Mrs. Stake was the daughter of Mr. Samuel Hawken, formerly of this county, but now of St. Louis, Mo., and a niece of Mr. William Hawken of Springfield Farm near this place.
She bore a blameless life and was beloved by all who knew her. She early embraced religion and to the day of her death, was a consistent member of the Lutheran Church and a devout Christian. Her disease was not consumption as we were first informed, but a derangement of the liver, resulting in a dropsical affliction.- "Williamsport Pilot"
