The funeral of John R. Witcher, who died at Niagara Falls, N.Y., Tuesday, took place from the First United Methodist Church Sunday afternoon under Masonic auspices.
Mr. Witcher was one of the pioneers of Southern Colorado and came to this state from Floyd County, Georgia, before the Civil War. He was one of the foremost cattleman and ranchers of Teller County and leaves a large estate. He was the father of Mrs. James C. Gentry of Meeker. The district attorney and Mrs. Gentry were present at the funeral.
