Michael L. Abner, 58, of Valparaiso formerly of Whiting, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Porter Hospital.
He was born January 20, 1947 in Centertown, Kentucky the son of Tom & Lee (Smith) Abner, graduated from Whiting High School in 1965 and served 4 years with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He had worked the past 39 years in Shipping at Bethlehem Steel's 160 inch Plate Mill and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Christine "Tina" (Miller) Abner of Valparaiso, their two children: Kim Abner and Michael Abner both of Valparaiso and his mother; Lee Abner of Whiting. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with burial following at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kouts. Visitation Sunday 2 - 6 PM.
