Mr. Ford was graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.
Mr. Ford spent two years in Nome, Alaska, following the gold rush of 1898. He was manager and later owner of the Gardiner Mill Co., a past member of the Umpqua Port Commission and president of the West Coast Fire Patrol Association. The International Paper Co. dam at Lake Tahkenich was dedicated to him.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ford Johns, Portland; a brother, Hugh P. Ford, Eugene; a sister, Mrs. Cal M. Young, Eugene; and two grandchildren.
Private service and interment will be at Riverview Mausoleum.
