He was an artist, well known in Baltimore & in New York City as portrait painter. Early in life developed his talents as an artist. He went to NYC and became known widely through the painting of portraits of prominent persons of that city and Newport.
Survived by his brother Dr. Clapham Pennington, four daughters.
