She was born in Talapoosa County, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Elmo and Stella Tucker of Huntsville. After graduating from Emma Sansom High School in 1946, she attended a year of business school. She worked in the Astrionics Lab and retired from NASA in 1989. She was a member of Huntsville Bible Church. She was the loving mother of Margaret M. Parcus, Edward F. McNamara of Huntsville, J. Marie Pierce of Tuscaloosa, and Debbie L. Aldridge of Harvest. Survivors other than her children include her sister, Sharon L. Tucker of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren, Amy E. McNamara, Michelle N. Parcus of Huntsville, Daniel J. Aldridge of Harvest, Matthew Pierce and his wife, Kendra, C. Michael Pierce, Lauren M. Pierce and Timothy B. Pierce, all of Tuscaloosa. She is also survived by her beloved companion, her Chihuahua, "Rosie".
