DeWitt Clinton Badger

US Congressman. He was elected to represent Ohio in the United States House of Representatives. After graduating from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, DeWitt Clinton Badger taught school in his home town, London, Ohio for five years. During that time he studied law and was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1881. He practiced law in London, Ohio and later became prosecuting attorney of Madison County, Ohio. After his term ended in 1885 he moved to Columbus to practice law;he was elected judge of the court of common pleas in 1893. He was a Democrat elected to the Fifty-eighth Congress serving from March 4, 1903 - March 3, 1905. He declined re-nomination for the office. He returned to Columbus and was elected 36th mayor of the city, serving from January 1, 1906 to 1908.
