Woman From Rimbey Dies At 72
Requiem Mass was being celebrated today for Mrs. Annie Lucy Becker of Rimbey, who died last Sunday at the age of 72. Services were being held at St. Margaret's Church in Rimbey with Rev. Father D. MacDonald officiating. Mrs. Becker died at University Hospital in Edmonton. She was born in Glenco, Minnesota, on March 16, 1894, and came to Canada to the Rimbey district in 1922 where she had since lived. Mrs. Becker was predeceased by her husband Joseph, on April 29, 1958 and by two sons, Cordell in 1953 and Sherman in 1959. She is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. J. (Delores) Laczo and Mrs. L. (Priscilla) Stewart, both of Buck Lake: Mrs. Lorraine Hedlund of Edmonton: Mrs. Eileen Thronson of Winfield; Mrs. J. (Georgia) Marchildon of Rimbey: Mrs. W. (Marcelene) Moore of Christina Lake, B.C.; Mrs. R. Shermain) McKay of High Prairie; Mrs.' P. (Yvonne) Murray of Edson; five sons, Marvin of Buck Lake, Norbert and Wayne, both of Winfield, Dale of Edmonton, Douglas of Blackfalds; also 60 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Interment in Mount Auburn Cemetery at Rimbey was to follow the funeral service with Eventide Funeral Chapel of La-combe in charge of arrangements.
