Born in Quitman, Texas, the son of Mayron and Hazel (Cherry) Horton Sr.

Married Patricia Morris on Aug. 15, 1958. She died in 2003.

Survived by a son, Charles of Amity; a daughter, Cherri Tuck of Amity; five brothers, Larry and Ray of Prineville, Gary of Brownsville, Mike of Salem and Joel of Keizer; two sisters, Sherry Williams of Amity and Sally Bannister of Idaho; and eight grandchildren.

Also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Walker in 1980, daughter Hope Horton in 1971 and sister Myrna Henning.

Served in the U.S. Navy.
