In the 1940 U.S. Census, Lonnie was a widower and living in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.
Lonnie married Della "Mae" (Bowman) Green Tappe (17 May 1884 - 6 Mar 1949), a widow, on 16 Apr 1942 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. At that time of their marriage, Lonnie was divorced.

I am not certain that the woman Lawrence "Lonnie" Tappe married in 1942 was Della Mae Bowman. I think she might have been Vernice "Vernicy" Mae Ward Green. Vernice was married to Peter Charles Green. Then I believe she married Tappe. After Tappe died she married Grover Auten. On Lonnie's death certificate the wife is listed as Mrs. L. L. Tappe, which isn't very helpful other than I believe Della Bowman died before he did.
