Greenwood SC - Charles Ambrose Bagwell, 79, of Rt. 5, died Saturday night [October 2, 1976] at his home. Born in Laurens County, April 16, 1986, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Nannie Baldwin Bagwell. He was a member of the ARP Church, a former deacon, a World War I veteran serving in the US Army and was employed with Watson Oil Company prior to his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Cora May Bagwell; one daughter, Mrs. W. C. (Martha) Haynie, Jr. of Greenwood; one son, Charles A. “Red” Bagwell of Abbeville; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Leaphart of Leesville and Mrs. Janie Bowers of Lancaster; two brothers, A. B. Bagwell of Greenwood and H. L. Bagwell of Lexington; five grandsons and five great-grandsons. Graveside in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Blyth Funeral Home.
