Gary Wayne Draper, 50, of Martinsville, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1960, in Martinsville to Amos David Draper and Bertha Quesinberry Draper. His parents preceded him in death.
He graduated from Drewry Mason High School and received a degree in business management from Patrick Henry Community College.
He worked at the former Tomlinson Funeral Home and Ambulance Service, now Community Funeral Services, as an emergency medical technician and as a funeral home attendant for more than seven years. He later worked at Bassett-Walker Knitting for 17 years before becoming disabled.
He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Leftwich Draper of the home; one stepdaughter, Melinda Sawyers of the home; and two stepsons, Tristan Jessup and Brendon Davis, both of the home.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at Roselawn Burial Park with Elder Thomas Radford and Kelly Ratcliff officiating.
Community Funeral Services in Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.
