For years I looked for Martha's parents. No census records showed up for her. Martha's death certificate stated her parents were George C. Wilson & Elyndia Robbins.
By chance, and now have lost his name, a gentleman found my query for Martha's parents, telling me Martha was the daughter of George W. Wilson & Melinda Robbins. I can see how the middle initial could be wrong, but Melinda's name spelled wrong? You also have to look at the source. Informant was Martha's forth, or maybe fifth husband and he may not of payed as much attention to his wife's parents names. 1880 census records show George W. Wilson & Melinda Robbins having a child by the name of Nancy Ann, not Martha Ann. The gentleman that contacted me told me they had Martha's name wrong on the Census as Nancy Ann, and the name should of been Martha Ann. Information are often given by neighbors who may not know all the correct names of the children, so is this the case with this family?
One clue that made me think I might be on the right tract, my grandfather told me names of Martha's siblings: Wayne, Mitt & Bill and a sister Lizzie (James' middile name is Wayne). Any family could have any of these names, but the unusual nickname of Mitt. I knew this had to be the right family especially with my grandfather naming all the siblings

Martha was first married to Charles Frederick Underwood. Charles was murdered 30 April 1905 in Linton, IN. After Charles death, the children went to live with family members living in Anderson County, TN.

Martha's granddaughter Geraldine "Jerry" tells me Martha was married five times. Martha's second husband was J. W. Cunningham. Her third & 4th husbands name has not been found. Martha's fifth husband was James Robert Lyons.

Martha's granddaughter tells me, Martha liked to dance. James and Martha went to the Pike located in Long Beach, CA to go dancing. Her granddaughter went with them occasionally to the Pike. In 1979 the Long Beach City Council refused to renew the lease, so the Pike amusement park was closed and demolished. Growing up, we weren't aloud to go there, but remember seeing it sometimes when we went to the beach.
