Mr. Hemler, a son of the late George and Louisa Felix Hemler, was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was affiliated with Hanover Council 871, Knights if Columbus, Hanover Home Association and Hanover Aerie 1406, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are six children, Richard, Charles and Harold Hemler, Katherine Adams, Hanover; Mrs. Richard Bange, Westminster, Md.; and Mrs. George E. Thomassy, Hanover; 16 grandchildren, one brother, George Hemler, McSherrystown, and a sister, Miss Louisa Hemler, Hanover.
Funeral services Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with prayers at the Wetzel Funeral Home, Hanover, followed by a Requiem Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. The pastor, Rev. Charles E. Park, will be celebrant. Burial in the parish cemetery.
