Loretta was a member of the NYS Nurses Association, the Town of Cochecton Ambulance Corp and Womens Community Club of Cochecton.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice J. Gilbert Jr. at home; five children, Michael Gilbert and his wife Shelly of Huntersville, N.C., Christopher Gilbert and his wife Donna of Huntersville, N.C., Patricia Schmidt and her husband Stephan of Jeffersonville, Diane Meyer and her husband Thomas of Jeffersonville, and Andrea Nanni and her husband Raymond of DeBary, Fla.; one brother, Fred Gasko and his wife Mary Ann of Littleton, N.C.; one sister, Mary Ann Szabo of Lake Huntington; one aunt, Madelyn Wold of Madison, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren, Shannon and Morgan Gilbert, Kristen and Christopher Gilbert, Bryan, Michael and Erika Schmidt, Vanessa, Katrina, Joseph and Stephanie Meyer and Alexandra, Anthony and Ryan Nanni.
She was predeceased by one sister, Florence Gasko.
A family statement reads, "Our Mom was faced with many adversities over the past few years. Her positive attitude, Faith in God and outlook on life is an inspiration to all of us. So it is for this inspiration that she will live on in us as we struggle through our own hardships. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her."
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lake Huntington. The Rev. Gus Richardson OFM and the Rev. Anthony McGuire OFM will concelebrate.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Narrowsburg.
