Lieutenant Eugene Jackson was born in Hartford September 18, 1918, and was graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1936. He attended Morse Business College. He was a member of St. Johns's Episcopal Church, East Hartford, and for several years was a member of the Christ Church Cathedral Boys Choir.

He was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company at the time of his enlistment in the 118th Observation Squadron, National Guard. In 1942 he was accepted as an aviation cadet and in 1943 was awarded his wings and a commission in the Army Air Corps.

He was killed in action during a bombing mission over Buchenburg, Germany while raiding the Memminger Airdrome on 18 July 1944.

His parents were Charles Lincoln Jackson and Hulda Maria Skoog Jackson. Gene and his parents are resting within Plot 126 here in Spring Grove Cemetery.
