Mrs. Leanda Knappenberger, wife of Thomas Knappenberger, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at the home of her son-in-law, Thomas Scholl, near Salisbury Square, aged 70 years and 9 months. She suffered several months with general debility. Deceased was born in South Whitehall township and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Houser. The family resided for many years at the old homestead near Dorney's and Mrs. Knappenberger lived only a short time with the Scholl family. Deceased was a member of the Cedarville Church. She is survived by her husband and nine children: Mrs. David Gerberich, Shoemakersville; Mrs. Thos. Scholl, Mrs. Sylvester Laros and Thomas, Salisbury; Percival, of Minesite; William, of Dorneyville; Mrs. Mary Litzenberger, Chapman's; Richard, of Cedarville; Harvey, of Germantown. Two brothers and two sisters also survive, Michael Houser, Springtown; Tilghman Houser, of Napiersville, Ill.; Mrs. Samuel Hallman, Jessup, Ia.; and Mrs. Adam Nonnemacher, of Wescosville. Brief funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the residence of her son-in-law. Regular services and burial at Cedarville Church.
